Business Development Manager (UK)

Job Description

Standard Media Index (SMI), the most trusted global source of advertising intelligence, is looking for a UK-based Business Development Manager to partner with the Managing Director (EMEA) to support key media agency and media owner accounts, evolve SMI’s European solutions following the marketplaces’ needs, and drive new business opportunities.  The right candidate will have no less than 4 years’ experience in UK media, own strong communications and analytical skills, and be used to manage large client accounts in a fast-paced environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a liaison with key SMI accounts in the European region
  • Collaborate with Managing Director (EMEA) in surfacing client/marketplace needs in order to evolve the SMI product/offering accordingly
  • Design new materials and research information as needed for specific account management situations, including outgoing communication and PowerPoint presentations
  • Deliver key consideration items for clients & partners, including prospects
  • Provide proactive client and prospect support in response to ad-hoc inquiries
  • Engage with top management decision-makers on the client/partner side
  • Stay attuned to SMI product updates and enhancements


Required Skills & Experience

  • A minimum of 4 years’ experience
  • Strategic thinker
  • Experience presenting to C-level (or equivalent) roles
  • Proficient in Excel & PowerPoint
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to concisely summarize data and complex findings
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in virtual teams
  • Capable of holding audience attention both in-person and virtual
  • Familiarity with the media industry is a must
  • Advanced knowledge of enterprise analytical solutions such as Tableau, Qlik, or PowerBI, is a plus
