Business Development Associate

Job Description

Standard Media Index (SMI), the most trusted global source of advertising intelligence, is looking for a Business Development Associate to support new business opportunities through direct interaction with prospective clients by leading and presenting materials.  The right candidate will learn the SMI business from the ground up to understand and deliver the unique proposition of SMI data.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Attend select sales meetings and lead completion of follow up material
  • Design new materials and research information as needed for specific account management situations,
    including outgoing communication and PowerPoint presentations
  • Deliver key consideration items for clients & partners, including prospects
  • Perform primary and secondary research to aid sales strategy as well as outreach efforts
  • Develop potential strategies to further enhance client relationships based on issues documented during client meetings
  • Find ways to standardize materials and use best practices and ideas across prospect opportunities
  • Provide proactive client and prospect support in response to ad-hoc inquiries
  • Engage with top management decision-makers on the client/partner side
  • Stay attuned to SMI product updates and enhancements

 

Required Skills & Experience

  • 1-3 years’ experience
  • Strategic thinker
  • Experience presenting to C-level (or equivalent) roles
  • Proficient in Excel & PowerPoint
  • Outstanding analytical skills with the ability to concisely summarize data and complex findings
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in virtual teams
  • Capable of holding audience attention, both in-person and virtual
  • Familiarity of the media industry is a plus, willingness to familiarize in-depth a must
