Consumers have seen traditional linear broadcasters expand their digital offerings with OTT providers like SlingTV, and by releasing their own dedicated apps (ESPN+, and now Disney+).

At the same time, media measurement analyst Standard Media Index (SMI) tracks the revenue streams that continue to ebb and flow into linear TV. SMI CEO James Fennessy makes a strong case that linear isn’t going anywhere for now.
