The first-ever meeting of the SMI Book Club last Thursday was a smashing success! The video and accompanying presentation are available; see below.
We started with the classic advertising book “Media Planning” by the influential strategist Erwin Ephron. Our featured speaker was Bill Harvey, a legend in his own right in the world of advertising measurement, who was a good friend of the late Ephron and is the subject of the book’s first chapter. Harvey was joined by SMI’s own Rick Bruner, Head of Insights & Analytics. The webinar was well attended by a few dozen industry professionals, including some senior executives from agencies, media companies and industry bodies.
Their presentation covered topics including “recency planning,” “continuity vs. flighting,” reach vs. frequency strategies and more. A lively discussion with the audience ensued in the last 15 minutes.
